Canada

My boyfriend surprised me this weekend with a trip to Niagra Falls, Canada! The two of us and our friends De and MC joined us on the mini vacation.

This and the photo above were taken with my camera on automatic settings. It was absolutely freezing and I'd decided to opt out of wearing a coat.

This was the view from our room on the 27th floor of the hotel. We could see both the Canada and New York sides of the falls. This was very tricky to photograph due to lighting and the glass. So I turned my flash off and put my white balance on daylight and it turned out ok.

This was our hotel. I took this with regular settings and no flash.

Photographing people is my favorite thing. This is MC and De at a bar/restaurant recommended by the locals called Shoeless Joe's. I took this photo with just the flash and automatic settings.

I love this picture taken at club Seven in Niagra. I like that its an action shot of a fun moment with my friends. Disclaimer: Canadian drinking age is 19 ;-)

This was another action shot I loved. Once again, just the flash.

MC and my boyfriend Keith have been friends since like age 5 and neighbors even longer. They were looking at the cars GPS, but to me it seemed like a cute moment to capture on film. This was taken without a flash and my white balance on daylight.

Basketball Game

Im not at all thrilled with how any of my pictures from the basketball game worked out. I couldnt figure out what settings to use, and by the time I changed the settings again, the picture I wanted would have already passed me by. Very irritating.

Sam and Orchids (or at least thats what I think they are)

These photos were taken this weekend at my boyfriend's parents house in Ohio. Sam is their pet poodle who is attached to me constantly. I managed to catch him mid-yawn and I just love the picture. He's such a dollface. I took this picture with all my settings on auto and with flash (which unsuspecting Sam didnt appreciate).

These next pictures are of some flowers that friends brought over for my boyfriends mother. I was practicing what we learned in class about the Exposure Metering setting on our cameras when an object is very backlit (like the window with the orchid). I turned my flash on and set the metering on "center weight" then when that didnt work I set it to "spot weight" and was happier with the results.

GC

These were taken in Downtown Grove City. I was thrilled when I discovered that my oh-so-advanced Kodak EasyShare has a Color Settings option. These were taken with all the different White Balance Options in combination with different Color Settings.
